The big day

If you recall from a couple of my last posts I was working on a wedding cake this last week. Well I was soooo nervous and stressed out I forgot of all things MY CAMERA! You can imagine my dismay when I got there set it all up and NO CAMERA! The first thing that came to my mind was my bloggy friends and how I promised yall some pics jejeje.

My dad being awesome as always let me borrow his IPhone to snap a pic. . . Its not the best quality ever but o well :(

I was also disappointed because my sister and I worked so hard on my outfit to make it all pin up and stuff jeje I will say though I had a BLAST doing my makeup <3 Maybe one of these I'll re-wear it and do my makeup the same as a little photoshoot jeje

Apart from all that I was so glad to be done with the cake, jejeje not that it wasnt any fun or anything. I LOVE making wedding cakes but this one was so difficult because we made it out of our apartment.

Since I didn't have any outfit piccys for you I'll share some pics from memory lane... these are some other wedding cakes Ive made in the past. . .
this was the 1st wedding cake I ever made

This couple LOVED autumn, they also got married in Oct.

This was my all time favorite :)
But if I can say so myself, the big 12 tier cake is my new favorite!

Well toodles for now loviess

Out with the old in with the new...

So before finishing the Panda hat I was sort of in a knitting/crochet rut. My sister recommended I listen to some of my favorite music for inspiration.

I know what some of you are thinking, "music for knitting inspiration, SAY WHAT?" well as crazy as it may sound my poems, story's, cakes, and knitting projects are mostly inspired by music! My all time favorite genre is swing :) Mostly because I grew up hearing my grandma and dad listen to it. Its so cheery and energetic, sort of makes you want to jump up and start dancing LOL

So anywhoooo what I was going to say before I got all discombobulated was that my sister's suggestion worked! Ive been on an inspirational roller coaster these days, and I must say I'm pretty happy with it.

Here are some pictures of my newest creations which are now all listed in my etsy shop YAY!

I named this first one after a song I LOVE from the Andrew sisters called "Boogie woogie bugle boy"
my sister willingly agreed to model for me <3

gotta love her jeje
So retro! LOVE LOVE

I love this one :) she was so tired after the long photoshoot I felt so bad for asking her to model LOL

So colorful. . .The Rain"bow" headband

Natures bow :) so outdoors-ish... lol
I also made a tutu for one of my niece's :) I cant wait for her to get it in the mail so she can snap some pictures, this one isn't the best pic ever but I thought I'd snap one for yall to see! IT HAD TO BE PINK OF COURSE!

So there are a few piccys of my latest creations, I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend and WONDERFUL father's day <3

Toodles for now loviess

Soap and things

Today's awesome feature is on Ms. Sandy from Sandyverns soap and things :) There are so many amazing things in here shop I couldn't even cover it all in my post jeje so make sure to take a peek.

Here's a bit about the shop <3

Our soaps are made from scratch using the old-fashioned cold process method of combining various oils, butters, and lye in just the right amounts to create a luxurious soap that we are proud to offer to you. We make all our soap in very small batches so we have precise quality control over the entire process. After curing for 4 - 6 weeks, we hand-cut and individually package each soap. You know you are getting a soap that is finely crafted and one-of-a-kind!

We also make various molded soaps using a combination of quality goat milk and Shea butter bases, as well as oatmeal and honey bases. Molded soaps are great as party favors or wedding or shower favors.
Other items to look for in our shop are whipped Shea butter, lotion bars and lip balms.

If you need a custom order Sandy also does that also...

Most items can be custom made...if you are looking for a particular color...or particular scent...convo me and let me know what you are looking for...I will be happy to make something special for you!

But don't be fooled by all the soapy goodness :) Sandy also makes many other lovely things like earrings, stitch markers, bath bombs and all things hogsworth.

Here's a few faves!
Cupcake stitch markers!

brown sugar scrub soap

owl hogsworth soap

pink grapefruit bath bombs

Slytherin soap

my rainy story

It was a cold rainy day in the small city of Cochabamba. The clothes needed washing but it was to rainy to do it by hand, so I decided to set out on the venture of learning how to use the small new machine.

As I gathered up all the clothes I felt a chill sweep up my arm. I decided to grab a jacket and sandals, but when I went to my room I found some dirty socks on the floor that distracted me. Instead of grabbing my jacket and shoes I grumbled picked up the socks and went on my way. As I went outside into the rain I slipped on the ceramic steps and fell halfway downstairs, instead of heading back up to grab my shoes I pushed the small ordeal out of my head and continued out on the small journey.

Finally having made it to the small unsheltered washing space completely soaked to the bone, I began pressing buttons but it wouldn't turn on.

Completely annoyed I realized the crazy machine wasn't even plugged in! Slowly and surely I grabbed the cord and plugged it in, before I knew it electric blue waves were running up and into my arm. I began screaming hysterically trying to let go but the electricity had a strong hold on my hand!

The horrific moment felt as if it had lasted forever while the neighbor ran out screaming and begging me to let go! Finally as if an angel was with me my hand let loose. My life was saved, but alas a new memory and future story had been created.

To Taylor Lynn who inspired me to tell the story of how I electrocuted myself washing clothes! LOL

She has everything from thank you cards to hand bound journals, here is a bit about URR.

Upcycle, Recycle, Reuse is where old products are given more value not less. The goal of this shop is to prevent wasting potentially useful materials by making use of existing ones. This reduces the consumption of new raw materials when creating new products. Reducing the use of new raw materials can result in a reduction of energy usage, air pollution, water pollution and even greenhouse gas emissions. This Shop embraces Reuse and Upcycling converting waste materials into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.

I know a lot of you might agree with me how important it is to be eco friendly :) I try to be as conscious about what I reuse as often as I can, So when I find little shops like this one its like find a diamond in the rough! ! !

Here are are a few of my faves <3 Enjoy
